Gonçalo has joined the IS
Meet Gonçalo, our new Communication Volunteer.
Gonçalo will be joining the IS offices for a year here in Antwerp, helping out with communication.
Hello! My name is Gonçalo, I’m 25 and I come from Portugal.
After completing my master’s thesis in graphic design last December, I found myself feeling a bit lost, uncertain about the direction I wanted to take next.
One day, a friend of mine shared with me his experience with volunteering, and I was inspired by the life lessons he gained during his short time in that role. His story inspired me to take some action, and I knew I wanted to do something similar and get out of my comfort zone
I began searching for opportunities where I could combine my skills for graphic design and art with a desire to make a positive impact and in a meaningful way. Hoping to contribute to the world and help others, and to grow personally. When I came across an opening for a communication role in SCI, I applied right away.
Now, I’m excited to be in Antwerp, eager to contribute to the organization with creative ideas, learn more about important topics, step out of my comfort zone, meet like-minded people, and embrace this new chapter in my life.
