Eve joined the IS!
Our new project volunteer!
Hello!
After spending some time in higher education (maybe too much time), I find myself wondering once again what to do with my life. I studied international human rights law and politics and sociology and all I knew was that I wanted to use this in some way. I was starting to question if I should stay in academia which is an interesting but quite elitist world.
A friend of mine who has been part of SCI for a long time presented the organization to me and it appeared as something I wanted to be part of. After some research, my interest grew even more with this idea of non-formal education, and a global message of peace, diversity and inclusion. This alternative approach raised my curiosity and I thought I could play my part in it.
So here I am in Antwerp as the new project volunteer. It is my first “real” volunteer experience and so far everybody has been so lovely and even Belgium is welcoming with uncommon sunny weather. I am really excited to start this new chapter of my life, by getting engaged in concrete projects, meeting like-minded people and joining the SCI family.
