Meet Ala, our new Project Volunteer
Welcome to SCI!
Hello everyone,
My name is Ala, a new member of the SCI International Secretariat. I recently joined the team and I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects.
I’m from Medenine, Tunisia, I bring a strong background in software development and a passion for utilizing technology to drive positive change. With experience in game development, software programming, and IT management, I’m well-equipped to contribute to the various projects and support the IS with tech- and office-related responsibilities.
Apart from my technical background, I have been actively involved in volunteer work and community engagement. As the Local Committee Vice-President of AIESEC in Tunisia, I managed the professional exchange program. I also participated in leadership programs with Islamic Relief Tunisia and the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
In terms of education, I hold a Master’s degree in E-commerce. My studies have endowed me with a solid understanding of e-commerce principles and strategies, further enhancing my technical expertise.
I believe in the power of non-formal education and am particularly interested in promoting gender equality and climate justice. I’m motivated to contribute to SCI’s mission of bringing systemic change to create a more inclusive and sustainable society.
As I embark on this new chapter, I’m thrilled to be surrounded by a global community of peace activists, international volunteers, and individuals working towards making a difference. I look forward to utilizing my skills, expanding my knowledge, and collaborating with like-minded individuals to create positive change.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring different cultures, trying new cuisines, and engaging in outdoor activities. If you have any tips or recommendations for life in Antwerp, I would greatly appreciate your insights.
Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. I’m excited to connect with you and work together to contribute to SCI’s mission and make a meaningful impact.
Best regards, Ala
